On December 23, 2020, ASSA ABLOY acquired Leatherneck Hardware, a specialty door hardware manufacturer headquartered in Danville, Illinois. Leatherneck Hardware is a second-generation family-owned business established in 1977, specializing in Commercial / Aircraft Hangar Door hardware.

This acquisition will further support our vision to be the preferred supplier and subcontractor for large openings commonly found in Aviation, Shipyards, Mining, and Heavy Industry. As the global leader in Aircraft Hangar Doors, this is a major step to meet the unmet global market demand to offer both the Vertical Lifting Fabric Door as well as the Bottom Rolling Hangar Door technology.

“Leatherneck Hardware’s experience and expertise in designing and manufacturing specialty door hardware for heavy commercial use is a strong and logical addition to the ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems team. I look forward to welcoming our new colleagues and together keep strengthening our Large Application Door offering”, says Christopher Norbye, Executive Vice President of ASSA ABLOY and Head of Division Entrance Systems.

“With Leatherneck Hardware’s strong and complementary product portfolio, great leadership team, and excellent reputation in our industry, they are a perfect addition to grow our business, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the family, says Mark Daugherty, President for Industrial Door Solutions North America at ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems. We now welcome the opportunity to support our customers and partners in the best solutions for hangar doors for all their needs”, Mark continues.
