Export Control Manager

Job Purpose:
 

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions has activities across the globe and, as an Export Control Manager with us, you will be providing expert advice and guidance to employees and managers at all levels within the Global Solutions division to ensure compliance with EU and foreign import/export laws, such asthe US Export Administration Regulations (EAR),and sanctions regulations, as well as conforming with internal corporate policies and procedures. You will be responsible for managing all Export Control compliance matters within the division, in coordination with the divisional Compliance Offer, who acts as the overall owner of the program.


What you will be doing:

 

The scope of work for this role is the implementation and maintenance of the Group's Export Control compliance program. Within the scope of that program, you will be designing processes and procedures for the division and each business area within the division. You will coordinate with the Divisional Compliance Officer and the Group Head of Compliance, and utilize the network of other Export Control professionals within the ASSA ABLOY Group. You will design and deliver Export Control Trainings to the employees in the division, promote a positive compliance culture and awareness throughout the organization, and support the integration of acquired businesses into the ASSA ABLOY Group. You will drive the products classification processes together with product management, lead, co-ordinate, and manage ad-hoc Export Control compliance related projects and tasks, and support the business areas with counterparty screenings against sanctions lists and reviewing sanctions screening results. You will be providing advice on the completion of export documentation, reviewing and approving export documentation, chasing export documentation, when required, and keeping records of the same. If an export license is needed, you will manage the application and coordinate the contact with relevant authorities.

The role is new for the division, and offers an opportunity for the right person to shape the role to personal preferences within the boundaries of the Group's Export Control compliance program and the business needs.

In this position, you report to the divisional General Counsel. The role is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.


Who you are:

We believe that you are an experienced practitioner with good working knowledge of European Union and foreign import / export regulations, particularly the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and from working in an international environment. You have a good
working knowledge of EU Customs regulations and an understanding of the impact of Brexit on UK based manufacturing and export operations. You have strong interpersonal/influencing skills to support decision making based on credible knowledge of International Trade and promote a healthy compliance culture. You are fluent in English and comfortable in holding presentations before small and big audiences. Other language skills are a plus. You are able to work under pressure, make decisions and produce results with limited supervision. Your strong professional integrity and high standards of business ethics will be your most valuable tool for succeeding in this role.
