We are seeking an operationally focused Senior Finance Manager to join our international Finance team. Reporting to the EMEA Finance SSC Director, the successful candidate will establish and lead the General Ledger and Reporting Shared Services team at our new Centre of Excellence (COE) in Galway Ireland.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following

  • Supports the establishment and development of the General Ledger and Reporting Shared Service team in Galway Ireland, building an effective partnership with all other finance and business functions.
  • Sets and manages the execution of departmental goals, metrics, and objectives, based upon overall corporate initiatives
  • Areas of responsibility will include Record to Report, including statutory reporting, and Purchase to Pay, including T&E
  • Financial & Management reporting
    • Responsible for delivering full monthly management accounts spanning a portfolio of countries, to strict deadlines.
    • Manage full Trial Balance and maintain monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for multiple entities
  • Statutory compliance, Taxation and & reporting
    • Continuous review of the regional legislative environment to ensure the financial/tax aspects is in order and assist non finance departments in their compliance requirements.
    • Full responsibility for ensuring entities are aligned with local legislative requirements, i.e., Financial Statements, tax returns, etc.
    • Liaising with local financial/taxation advisors as required
  • Relationships
    • Developing proven relationships with all finance functions as well as the non- finance departments located in HQ and regional offices
  • Customer Service
    • Build and maintain a strong customer centric culture within the financial reporting team
    • Deliver SLAs/KPIs and improve efficiency of the operations each year
    • Provide process oversight and support to the Business Areas to enable them to comply with relevant policies and to meet internal reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Process & Systems
    • Working as part of a global team, supports continuous improvement in the Shared Services team, to create an environment that strives for global consistency of best practices, identified both internally and externally to the organization
    • This includes standardisation of processes and practices across business units, culture and implementation of corporate systems
    • Ensuring processes are robust and compliant with corporate standards.
  • Integration of new acquisitions
  • Other duties may be assigned


  • 10+ years of financial management experience in a multinational public corporation including at least 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Performance management and team development experience
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Very good knowledge of processes within SSC and an understanding of continuous improvement methodology
  • Practical knowledge of SLAs and workload management
  • Time management - ability to focus and get things done and know what is business critical; able to deal with conflicting priorities and ambiguity

  • Co-ordination/planning/resource allocation - ability to bring together different people with conflicting schedules/ideas and meet deadlines

Qualifications & Education

  • Relevant professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. 
    • Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting preferred)
    • Recognised professional accounting qualification

Language Skills                  

  • Excellent English, both verbal and in written

Computer Skills    

  • Experience of Oracle or similar ERP
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of tools

Work Requirements

  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems
  • Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. However it will not be onerous
