Customer Carvana is changing the way consumers buy cars by removing the traditional dealership infrastructure. Instead, the trailblazing company offers buyers an intuitive and convenient online automotive retail platform along with the ability to receive delivery or pickup of their vehicles from one of Carvana’s proprietary automated Car Vending Machines. Challenge Initially, rapidly growing Carvana was searching for a high-speed interior roll up door solution that could also feature printed consumer marketing messages for the company’s Frisco, Texas Car Vending Machine & Pickup Center due north of downtown Dallas. Carvana also had a need for sliding telescopic doors for its Frisco location, but with a much higher end and cleaner design than the more traditional telescopic doors in use at its other Car Vending Machine & Pickup Centers that feature highly visible aluminum frames. Solution In close partnership with Carvana, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems consulted with the company on a packaged door solution that includes both the high-speed interior roll up doors as well as a new approach to all-glass telescopic sliding doors that provide the maximum amount of visibility into the Frisco Carvana Car Vending Machine & Pickup Center’s car delivery bays.
